The multi-brand retail, media and publishing group has selected the AppDynamics Application Intelligence Platform as a critical tool to help build and later operate Net-A-Porter’s new customer-centric network operations centre (NOC) that will aim to drive operational excellence and deliver a flawless user experience to the Group’s nine million monthly visitors. The Group has deployed AppDynamics end-to-end across its three brands, NET-A-PORTER, THE OUTNET and MR PORTER, in order to help reduce the complexity of its infrastructure, whilst improving visibility of application performance and BizDevOps collaboration.
The platform empowers DevOps teams within each of the three brands, as well as the operations team that oversees the Group’s infrastructure, to move away from a siloed view of application performance. It is now possible to proactively measure the quality of customer experience across the Group’s site functions such as search, checkout, product comparison, and homepage displays.
The Net-A-Porter Group is built on a foundation of technology innovation and was an early adopter of AppDynamics, and due to this longstanding working relationship the Group’s requirements were built into AppDynamics’ product roadmap. Today, the Group has approximately 1,000 AppDynamics agents deployed across its hybrid cloud environments, and will scale the solution as it continues to refine its infrastructure.
“After installing AppDynamics, we were able to spot application issues that previously had been invisible, helping us improve operational stability and consequently, the service we deliver to our customers,” said Hugh Fahy, CIO at the Net-A-Porter Group. “We strive to be dynamic and first to market in all things. AppDynamics plays a significant role in helping us meet some of our key strategic IT objectives – reducing the complexity of systems and increasing visibility into how they perform. We previously used multiple point-monitoring solutions, which didn’t give us end-to-end visibility. The AppDynamics platform gives us a unified, real-time view of user experience, application performance, and availability. That allows us to optimize the user experience, and it’s hard to imagine our business without it.”
“For a pure-play luxury fashion retailer, user experience is mission-critical, and the role of IT is to connect customers with the high-end product as quickly and seamlessly as possible,” said Jyoti Bansal, founder and CEO of AppDynamics. “We look forward to working with the Net-A-Porter Group to help the brand harness application intelligence, driving IT excellence while delivering a seamless and consistent brand experience to its customers.”
The AppDynamics Application Intelligence Platform is a comprehensive solution enabling companies and government entities to maximize business and application performance. The platform is designed and architected to help give business and government users the confidence that their applications are running at their best, to give IT personnel the operational visibility and control they need, and to give end users the great experiences they’ve come to expect and demand.
